November 1 2005:
Poppy Seller

They’ve been selling poppies for the last couple of weeks in the run up to Rememberance Sunday on November 13. This old seaman was doing his bit today to raise money for all the servicemen and their families who have paid a high price in times gone by.

So British!
Love your portraits, they have always something more...an expression, a detail...

His eyes are captured wonderfully. They've seen it all and yet have a glimmer of laughter coming thru. Keep looking and looking at this. Excellent.

Nice picture Ray, we certainly owe them a lot.
My dad served all through WW2. I was 4 when it started.

He looks very proud to be having his portrait taken. I like the way you have captured the sunlight on his face.

A very worthy cause and a beautiful portrait too. Ours is held on the eleventh hour, of the eleventh day, of the eleventh month.
