Long standing followers of my pages may know that I get my ‘fix’ of vintage buses every September by visiting ‘Showbus’ at Duxford near Cambridge.
Despite the forecast sunshine, it was a day full of grey skies, but at least this vehicle provided some interest.
This 1954 bus had its chassis built in Southall by AEC, and its bodywork manufactured by Weymanns of Addlestone. For 30 years it served the people of Lisbon before coming back home. It looks most odd to us Brits with its cab on the ‘wrong side’, but the ad encouraging the drinking of beer is a familiar message…
