July 9 2005:
My People

My cousin has appointed me a ‘custodian’ of all the old family photos that were kept at my Aunt Ethel’s house, and I eventually received them this afternoon. Ethel had a reputation for not throwing anything away, and of course that included this treasure chest portraying family members of times gone by.

There must be about 100 of them, some of them nearly a century old and so I now have a major project on my hands as I scan and identify them as much as possible.

My Aunt Ethel was quite glamorous in her day – that’s her sitting on the beach .

What a find, Ray. I've become the repository for quite a few familyu photos myself, although a good many people are gone who could tell who was who in them. I'd love to look through these... and hear their stories!

Aren't you fortunate to have this photographic history that lives on. Wonderful old photos. I always have been fascinated by the fact no one ever smiled back them. Beautiful collage.

What a treasure indeed. I've been going though hundreds of old family photos as well. It's not an easy task, but it sure is interesting.
