January 25 2004:
Introducing Miss Galia

My friend Barbara paid a visit today, and she bought over Galia, a real cute and succulent lovely from the Middle East. After Barbara left, Galia stayed behind and I decided to turn the lights down low to the voice of Norah Jones before starting a moody camera shoot.

Galia is, indeed, quite lovely.

The adage "Don't knock it till you have tried it", comes to mind.

I am told we prefer the Cantaloupe variety.
So that I get the correct one from Waitrose I remember; "Cantaloupe are super-doup, galia are not ralia"!!!

Thank you Ray. Great.

Very creative - both the photo and the story. :)

Beautiful shot, Ray - and great choice in music, tho I doubt Norah Jones would have had the idea of melon seduction in mind when she recorded the album!!

As old as I am and still blushing like a schoolgirl.

Some sort of melon, I see.
Man, ya gotta love Google!

This is hilarious!! LOL!! Great shot and lighting, too. Nice capture of the texture.

Nice lighting indeed.
Ok, I'm a doofus, what the heck is this?
Time to do a Google, I guess.

I too love Galias, but must admit I have never paid too much attention to "her" skin". Your detail in this shot makes a beautiful study of the neat pattern. Your lighting is very effective to achieve it too, plus makes a dramatic photograph!

LOL I'm sitting here laughing at Jeanne's comment. Great light. I love the way you light things. -- angela :)

Ummm. Ray, I'm a little concerned for her skin. Seems like she may have some dermatitis...Hope you had a lovely night! Cool lighting used to highlight her....stem!
