January 3 2004:
Savings Bank

If I was doing a monthly theme like David, this would certainly be in my 'childhood' gallery, since this was my money box as a kid. True to form, my mum kept it up until she left her house five years ago. And like her, I haven't thrown it away either. And dare any of you nominate me for "Life Laundry"!

Now with the creation of this picture, if by some sad consequence of life you lose that little treasure, you'll still have this beautiful visual memory of it! Well done!

Wonderful nostalgic image, Ray. The tones here are lovely. How much money is in there?!

A first class image Ray.
If this is full size, and gets full, will you be able to lift it??

Ray, that is such an interesting story and box. Love the colors and the reflection is outstanding!

Beautiful background and lovely warm memory.

Nice image and great story Ray

What a sensitive compelling image. The technical aspect of course is splendid..however the story behind it is touching. I dont have anything from my childhood but if I did I would cherish it as much as you cherish this little box.

(I have just got to learn that technique with the mirror)

Wow. All the gold color is splended. The story behind the box was a great supplement to the photo.

Hi Ray,
Thanks for stopping by my new PAD project, thought I'd return the favor.
Absolutely beautiful! The ironic thing is that I unknowingly made a reflections image for today as well. I like yours much better. The reflection is so clear, where is mine is not so nice.
Great job!

Very nice reflection, and I like the warm orange tones. Was that commercial for Peek Freans popular in England? The one where they sang, "Peek Freans are a very serious cookie"? It's the first thing that popped into my head when I saw this!

What a clean shot, Ray - and I love those warm color hues! Wonderfully captured image - congrats!

I just wonder if there's any money left in it after buying your new camera!

I save loose change in an Oxo tin, they're easier to fill.
