Our town can be considered a railway town, but not in the traditional sense as no manufacturing or engineering took place here - it is the first sizeable town out of London in this direction and is the site of the routes first major junction with the line to Portsmouth branching off here. Our 'success' is based on these transport links.
This train is heading much further west, certainly to Salisbury, but perhaps going on to Exeter or possibly Bristol. The yellow coaches behind are not a passenger train, but are full of equipment that check the state of the track as it travels over the network.
