Last month Qantas introduced a non-stop service from London to Perth, Western Australia. At over 17 hours, it is one I'd avoid, as I'd rather stop off in somewhere like Singapore or Hong Kong. And besides, the main market are the cities further east in Australia so you'll need to take a break for them anyway.
But it is all good PR.
