Midgham

Berkshire view map

The Coach and Horses pub is not in the centre of the village but on what was the main London to Bath and Bristol road. Hence its name.
However, the railway station that bears its name is further away - in Woolhampton. The story goes that there was some confusion with the city of Wolverhampton (especially with parcels etc.), so the name of nearby Midgham was used instead.

A very nice looking Inn...I can see the coaches pulling up at the door and the ladies entering the " snug "
