Burghead is a small fishing port on the Moray Firth, some way east of Inverness. Each 11th January it holds a fire festival called the 'Burning of the Clavie'. Why 11th January? It's actually a New Year's Eve festival but the date is distorted by the switch from the Julian to the Gregorian calendar.
