Harmondsworth, along with nearby Longford, is a doomed village now that the third runway at Heathrow Airport has the blessing of the Government. The additional London runway issue has been around for all my adult life, and not even Margaret Thatcher could resolve the issue!

Sadly, any solution was going to involve demolition of people's homes, some of them like this having some character. A silver lining is that the Great Barn here, dating from around 1430, will be saved but is likely to be very close to the revised airport boundary.
