Imber, Wiltshire

Imber used to be just another village, but these days it is notable for being in a middle of a military training area and nobody has lived there since the 1940s.

Access is granted to the general public a handful of days per year, and the only used building still standing from earlier days is St Giles Church. The shell of the old pub still remains, but like the specially constructed structures from more recent decades, is strictly out of bounds.

Thanks for the photo Ray, my mother's ancestors lived here up until 1875 approx. I've always wanted to visit, but am never in the UK when there's access.

LOL @JJ
St Gies needs some love and attention by the look of it.

Lots of tourists and photogs taking advantage of the open day. Do you know the age of this church?
