Built in 1937, this Leyland bus survived Hitler's bombs despite operating in Kent just across the coast from occupied France. By a quirk of fate, it was converted to a mobile ticket office after it was retired from ordinary bus use. It's resultant extended life meant it got noticed as a vehicle worth saving.
