towns in the north of England often have an indoor market housing independent traders and that is something we lack in the south, especially the south east. Down here, we do have markets, but they are usually smaller and quite different.
This one in Accrington in Lancashire is in an old purpose built market hall and also features a balcony, like a few others I've visited.
The nearby town of Blackburn has a new one on the ground floor of a shopping mall - very good to see that flourishing and that the tradition has been kept.
