My father had an English literature lecurer donkey´s years ago who would say thumping a text; "it's all there you know!". I's say the same of this picture.

I actually laughed first time I saw this - I think from just how amazing it is an image we have all seen in our normal lives can be so unique and so powerful when in the hands of the right person. Everything about the composition is perfect but importantly (from the point of view of illustrating Urban Melancholy), it pulsates with despair and frustration entwined with hope. Masterpiece.

thanks all, this is one of my favorites as well. it was as soon as I saw it download from the card. this image and the "remembering" image are really the core photos that gave me the idea for starting this project

It is the story that is so gripping here, the ultimate solution which defies rules, hope down the drain, a sadness already beyond reach --- all told with an economy of details. This is truly an auspicious beginning for a new project. And here am I, still mesmerzed by this first picture. It will be a while before I can take it all in. But for now, simply, bravo!!!

This is one of my favorites and is one of your "signature photos" as it combines creativity, interesting POV, and top-notch color processing. I think it's excellent (but you already know I do!)

Chuck, I saw this shot on your BP site and have to agree with cdnies...Great shot!

Had to come back to this after reading yor intro for the gallery...first off, this definately fits the "pensive mood" category. Also, the lines through the shot and splash of color provided by the shorts are great. I also like the placement of the towel as well... Anyway, much to like about this shot...great work!
