In May 2006 I spent a long weekend in Washington, DC, organizing the first-stage judging in the IEEE Computer Society's international design competition. While I was there I took some photographs. On Saturday 13 May I visited the Mall and encountered a Fallun Gong group doing exercises, a student group playing softball, and a group of the mothers of fallen soldiers opposing the war in Iraq. Because I have to fly with KLM/NorthWest, my first pictures are of Schiphol airport, Amsterdam.
Unusually, this gallery is not organized by time. I've grouped topics together; for example, building gables, windows, patterns, statues etc.
