Sue and I spend a few days in Alpbach in the Tyrol region of Austria. It's a beautiful place and there are many walks of all types. The Tyrol is rather picture-card perfect and there's a little Gasthof serving gulasch soup and apfel strudel somewhere on every walk.
In a way, it represents a photographic challenge. If everything is so perfect, how do you take images that are actually different or interesting? Trust me, after 1,000 pretty pictures of mountain tops and flower-bedecked wooden buildings, you long for a bit of ugliness.
