A week in Marrakech over the 2007 New Year
Sue and I went to Marrakech in Morocco for a week. The weather was excellent - virtually no clouds for an entire week. Marrakech is a great place - interesting - friendly people - safe. However, it proved very difficult to capture. It's always busy - this means that the probability of someone walking in front of the camera as you hit the shutter is 99%. The light can be rather harsh - especially when it's at a low angle. Finally, many people do not wish to be photographed and being a middle-aged white-haired European in Marrakech with two cameras round my neck rather made me stand out.

I've been to Marrakech and your pictures really capture the atmosphere. I enjoyed the ones with buildings the most, specially when they look almost abstract work. Good job.

Nice gallery! i went to morocco 18-29 dec 2006, so we maybe passed each other in marrakech ;). it's very hard to take some photos. i went to take some photos as well, but i brought almost nothing... it's all about the people, they don't want to be photographed, they are not very nice, only waiting for your money.. regards
