Fellow D60 user indeed! The D60 was rapidly turning me into a homicidal maniac. More than once I nearly threw it from the aircraft... I've never been so frustrated with a camera.
True... the D60 pictures are good. I've no problem with the image quality.
The problem is the shutter delay. After a few minutes it shuts down and you have to half depress the shutter release to re-activate it. The delay is about 2 seconds. That's ok for photographing people, but not when you are flying. Often, by the time I'd picjed up the camera pressed the shutter release and pushed it out of the little side window, I'd passed the thing I wanted to photograph. You can't exactly slow an aircraft down.
Anyway... I swallowed my pride (not to mentionl the fortune I paid for the D60) and bought a 20D. I'm rather delighted with the result. The 20D produces photos as good at the D60 (the additional 2 megapixels makes little difference). However, the 20D is always on and you can take a picture in under .1 second. The focusing is also better.
I don't know whether to sell my D60 or keep it as a backup.
