What a great group of pictures.. wonder if anyone could help me out.. I am looking to take a few pictures of some old mills in the North South Carolina area when I am down ther and would love to know some locations of a few of these pics if any are in that area.. thanks

Excellent is an understatement. This gallery is museum quality as is much of the subject matter. It definitely arouses mixed emotions. I hope its more nostalgia for the past than an ominous portent for the future.

I like to wander through the recent galleries and sometimes I find some real gems. This is one of the more interesting galleries I've visited on pbase. It may not be a gallery of "pretty" pictures but it is totally fascinating. There is a gripping sense of presence you've captured that I can actually feel. Good grief, I can practically smell the old with some of those pics! It appears you chose the right kind of light for these, too. Excellent work. GMV

This is a fantastic gallery, I have watched every single wonderful shot and enjoyed them all so much. I am glad that you saved these places for the future this way. Here where I live in Sweden most old factories are gone for environmental reasons, too bad in one way... You have a good eye and I am looking forward to see more!

It's amazing that you have been able to bring out such a haunting beauty in such a mess of industrial ugliness. Have you though about publishing a book? I know that sounds funny seeing you have put your images on the net, but I really think a collection of these photo's in a book would capture people's attention.

I went back again, i knew i shouldn't, but i did and i'm exhausted...too much pleasure all at once...i shouldn't say it, but i think you've given me Tourette's or something...this gallery is like sex for the eyeballs, so many wondrous images! I think i mentioned once or twice that you must live in texture heaven, but i'm wondering now if you're not some mad chemist you goes round corroding everything in advance ;) Stunning, truly, and moving too...all this decay is our by-product, and you capture the tragic beauty of it wonderfully! Big, big (and very sad) fan!

I can't even begin to choose which "one" is my favorite. I love the unique perspectives combined with the subtle colors, in particular. But then, I'm also drawn to some of the vibrant images as well... It's excellent!

These are neat. Beautiful color, and I especially like the images of the Old Salem iron plate against the brick (it reminds me of details on your pottery), and the horizontal gravestone. Keep working!!
