HERB PAUL
Well done good and faithful servant.
Above all he loved the Lord
Mr. Paul was a friend of 7 years.Since our first meeting as doctor&patient in my first week as a greenhorn doctor.
He was one of those WWII veterans who loved to tell me about his war experiences as a paratrooper.
Obviously still proud to have served his country and still loved it dearly. He reminded me of my dad, this generation their country first and themselves last.He got to where he couldn't work anymore, and actually cried tears about it.All about being productive these guys were.
Respect was also of upmost importance. It took me 1 year to get him to call me Clark instead of doctor. He had a horrible back but I couldn't get him to stay seated when I came in the room. He would struggle to his feet and give me a firm I mean FIRM handshake.
He guaged other men by their handshake.
Providing for his family was his job and he persued that goal, even in his illness, with a vengeance
Everyone needs a HERB PAUL in his life.
Take time to listen and get to know a WWII vet,or someone who lived in the depression.
We need , somehow,to return to these values..................
before it's TOO LATE
