HUNGER GAMES

Patrick had a sleepover last night for an early birthday party.

They wanted to go to laser tag where they shoot each other, then they came home and played a shooting game on Wii

Next morning they got up,went outside with weapons, and played their version on hunger games.

Apparently if you did this in school these days you would be in deep stuff.

Boys play with guns, girls play with dolls, and there is NOTHING wrong with that

I had a husband once who thought it was great fun to strap targets on me and my boys and shoot at us.... but seriously, laser tag... that is a trip on the way back machine!

Summer vacations were filled with playing war at the water treatments plants reservoir and nature area. BB guns, and home made weapons. As we got older (12 and 13) we implemented IED's (Bottle rockets and smoke bombs) into the arsenal of fighting imaginary russians trying to take out land. Out bikes were our "tanks" and we'd be out till dusk. Eating "rations" from the local corner store. We played guns, made mcgyver like snares and all played together. We carried pocket knives (to school) and nobly was worse than skinned needs or bad sun burns from being in the elements all day. Every kid in a 5 block radius would converge on the "Res" and we'd play. Nobody ever talked crazy and the "bad kids wee in segregated classes and kept under control. Today? Yeah- I love this picture as it brings a flood of my childhood back. Kids today (mostly) are pan sys. Arranged play dates, soccer camps and huge birthday parties.... This is livin....

Cops and robbers, cowboys and indians, yep, being a boy hasn't changed that much! Nice candid Clark! (Though I do wish I would have had guns like these 62 years ago!)

The deep stuff will happen at home sooner than we want. Keep up the good work.
