This is the famous Guatemala City dump
Used to be home to children who dug out caves in the trash
and survived on sifting thru trash for recyclables and ???
There were several killed when there was a landslide,I think,
and the place has been cleaned up alot.I beleive you have to have a permit to "work"the dump now and we didn't see any children.
The sad thing is that these permits,I'm sure, are highly sought after,after all it is a job of sorts
The city graveyard is in the same location and parts of both the dump and the cemetery
share land.Along with hundreds of buzzards
