Dorothy Landis Jones (DLJ) was born in 1905 and married Paul Jones Sr. in 1930. I've tried to arrange these photos chronologically - when I know the date, I've listed it, & otherwise I've guessed.

Thank you so much for putting together this wonderful set of photographs. I am Richard Wagner Landis, Dick Landis' oldest boy, and I have very fond memories of my Aunt Dorothy and her family.
My dad worked for the Bendix air brake division of Westinghouse Corporation, where his oldest brother, Bill, was assistant director of manufacturing. Bill's boss was Harry L. Nicholson, VP of Manufacturing, and Bill and Esther lived next door to the Nicholsons. The story goes that one morning Dad went out on the front porch to get the paper on the porch next door porch was a vision of loveliness, the Nicholson's daughter, Margaret. They married in 1937 and I came along in 1941, shortly before they were transferred to the newly-constructed Bendix plant in Elyria, Ohio. I lived the first six months of my life at Myrtle and GB's home in Oberlin, after which we moved to Elyria.
Margaret contracted cancer when my little brother, Nicky (Nick, Malcolm) were in elementary school; she was only 37 when she died. Dad subsequently married Betty Phillips, a wonderful woman who raised Nick and me into adulthood. During those years we often visited our grandparents at their home on Myrtle Avenue in Findlay, OH. Whenever Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Paul came back from Brazil for a summer vacation, we would spend a weekend with them as well. Their boys were about the age as us, so we enjoyed doing things with them. We did, however, notice that they tended to speak more Portuguese than English, at least at the outset of our visit.
Dad died in 1982 in Sarasota, where he and Betty had lived after he retired from Bendix. His death was unexpected, and I know that Nick and I were numb with grief, but I'll never forget that Dorothy (and one of our cousins, I think) and Bill and Esther came to Dad's memorial service and the lunch which followed. That was the last time I saw her. She was such a lovely person, and judging by these photographs, she and Dad were close buddies growing up.
I've sent the webpage address to my daughter Angella, son Nathan, and brother Nick. I may have some information about the Landis side of our family that will be of interest to you and yours. Let me know and I'll be glad to share.
