Sam, thank you for your id of the plant! I thought it was milkweed because of the little star-shaped flowers, but I did not find a picture of a white one in my books.

Yes, indeed, that's a milkweed: Pineneedle or Neddle-leaf milkweed (Asclepias linaria) to be exact. This is a great butterfly bush as well. What a colorful milkweed bug you have there, Carol.
