After more research I understand why I have been having such difficulty definitively naming this
little spring flowering plant. It is because there are eleven species of Lesquerella (Bladderpod) in Arizona!
Two are Bladderpod Mustard and Arizona Bladderpod. Both of which I believe I have identified
on my land. Further confusion may be caused by the fact that the Arizona Bladderpod (Lesquerella
arizonica) crossbreeds with Lesquerella intermedia. I am certainly getting further educated about the local plant world.
These are in the Mustard Family (Cruciferae).
