I believe this to be Bladder Pod, Lesquerella gordonii in the Mustard-Brassicaceae Family.
It is an early spring annual that forms carpets of yellow color with abundant fall and winter rain,
which we had here. This is found in the Sonoran and Chihuahuan deserts.
