Blue Dicks, aka Desert Hyancinth P3241797

Around Home, J-Six West, Pima/Cochise Co. AZ

Dichelostemma pulchellum
Lily Family

I found this little beauty growing wild on my land.

The Desert Hyancinth (Blue Dicks) grows in rocky slopes and is a common Spring flower of the
Desert. It blooms in early Spring with clusters of lavender-purple flowers on slender stems
up to two feet tall. Only a few of its species have become adapted to the harsh regime of the desert.
The bulbs were eaten by Indians and early settlers.
