IMG_1569 March Mix - Unusual Architecture

At Work

This is the patio and main entrance of the Big House/Seminar House, formerly the Fulton House.
The founding family, William Shirley and Rose Fulton, working with Tucson architect
Merritt Starkweather, built their home in Texas Canyon in 1931. Mr. Fulton retired as Chairman of
the Board of the Waterbury Farrell Foundry and Machine Company of Waterbury, CT, to devote full time
to his true passion - archaeology (here in Texas Canyon, Dragoon, AZ).
This, the main house, has six bedroom suites, each with its own outside entrance and all are
interconnected by doors on the inside. There is a small kitchen for family use, a huge livingroom
with the most spectacular views, and a pool room (now a small conference room).
