At Miller Canyon

Miller Canyon, Hereford, AZ

We visited Beatty's Guest Ranch to take a Nature walk and see the hundreds of Hummingbirds that
visit. Beatty's has more than a dozen Hummingbird feeders around the property and between May and
September each year they see between 9 to 14 different species. Beatty's is located at an elevation
5800 feet in the Huachuca Mountain Range outside of Sierra Vista, AZ.

In this shot, I was lucky enough to get four. The large one in the foreground is a Blue-Throated,
the red head leaving the scene is an Anna's, and the big one coming in is a Magnificent.
(Better shots to follow).

Sandi Whitteker10-Sep-2010 15:21
So funny how they'll sit together at a larger feeder. Usually they're so territorial, busy chasing each other off. Very nice capture of hummingbird congeniality Carol.
