At Home, Texas Canyon, Dragoon, AZ

I've been hoping to see a local Bobcat or two and I finally saw one.
He walked right past my kitchen window!
I had to run to the birding room to grab my camera off the tripod and run back to the kitchen in
hopes he was still there, at my little watering hole. He was just walking around the end of our
travel trailer to the other side so I watched for him to come past the other end and, sure enough,
he did! I got one good shot while he was crossing the driveway area and one as he went into the
old, empty horse stable and disappeared out of sight.
These were taken through the window and the fence.
I followed his trail shortly after, but was unable to spot him again.
What a total thrill - I love it out here!

A fantastic story. So few people in the whole country have ever seen one in the wild. And so great you got some good shots of him too. What a day!

What an amazing encounter!
Hopefully he will be back for more photos.

Yep, that's a bobcat alright! We have them in my area but have only caught a glimpse or two over the past 5 years. Great capture!

What I've read about them, human sightings are rare, despite their numbers being high & their range vast throughout...you are very lucky, Carol...2 great shots.

Very cool shots. How exciting for you to see this at your home. We get coyotes in our front yard from time to time, but never bobcats. So great that you're enjoying your new home!

I've heard one late at night years ago in Vermont and saw a juvenile for a second on Route 1 in CA last year. And to think this one is a visitor to your yard. Very cool. V
