Red-tailed Pennant, I Believe

Cochise Lake, Willcox, Ariz

We drove out to Cochise Lake in Willcox at 6:00 this morning to see what I might catch.
I saw lots of wonderful birds and insects and am absolutely thrilled that I caught this beautiful
Dragonfly, who was hovering a few feet from me over the dirt road near the water's edge.
I did some research and believe this guy is a Red-tailed Pennant, belonging to the Skimmer family.
The Red-tailed Pennant belongs to a genus of three dissimilar species — one red, one brown, one black,
all of which can have wings varying from almost unmarked to heavily patterned.

Here are two other shots I was so blessed to get:

Canon EOS 30D ,Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM
1/1000s f/10.0 at 300.0mm iso640 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto
