"This dainty, pale blue species is a familiar inhabitant of still waters surrounded by reeds or cattails.
Watch for it at wildlilfe-refuge ponds, the edges of lakes created for water treatment or fishing,
and even back-yard lilly ponds. The territorial males take prominent perches, often on stems bent
out over the water, from which they frequently dart out to chase off intruders.
The snow-white face of this species distinguishes it from the similar Western Pondhawk."
From the book "Dragonflies & Damselflies of the Southwest" by Robert A. Behrstock.
I spotted this beauty during a visit to Sweetwater Wetlands Water Treatment Ponds in Tucson.
