Homes with Red X or orange sign to be demolished. Over a year after Katrina, thousands of homes, block after block empty. Most have doors open, windows broken. Insides on most are gutted to wood studs. I felt I was in a ghost town. Most wood structure homes were wiped out. Brick homes, as you can see withstood the flood and many look like they can be remodeled. With Mold, Wood rot and leaking roofs to be repaired. I suppose many just walked away and started life somewhere else.
Know all too well what the city looks like. People are waiting on goverment to rebuild their homes, but Maty and I have sold our house and are building in Mobile Ala in a very high part the city far away from water and no levees. You show some very good photos of what the city looks like. It is what you say, a ghost town and I do not think it will be half as big as before Katrina. Very sad.
