How it all started... in 2003

Cap St-Jacques ~ Ile de Montreal

I have been asked few times how this chain of love started...
I never really took time to answer.
But recently, to a new friend in Netherlands i wrote the following:

It is interesting that you are asking me how the idea of the heart gallery was born...

One day i was alone on a beach and i drew a heart in the sand.

Then, the next year, i went at the same beach,
around the same time (swimming season over),
i was in about the same mood...
Drew another heart in the sand.
Somebody saw me drawing it but i had no clue.
Much later, he came to me and said it was very nice to see me do this.
It made him smile and feel good.
We exchanges smiles, he left.
I never saw him again.
It was one of those deep but fleeting moments
that we all encounter here and there.
Moments that we cherish and moments that contribute
to our happiness of being alive.

I truly believed that i was completely alone on the beach that day.
He surprised me by his presence and his comment.

So, when sometimes i remembered that moment,
it made (and is still is making me) me feel good
and thought it would be nice to create a "chain" reaction of that good feeling...

The idea of "chain reaction" emerged in my head,
then the desire to connect people with good feelings came second
and i decided to "try" to see if it would work, in my humble way.
And today, when some people discover my chain of love, or heart gallery,
or international chain of hearts... I have requests of perfect strangers
who want to become "a link" - this is just wonderful.

It makes me smile
and i am sure they smile too so,
just for that "shared" moment of smile,
i think the gallery is worth it...

We have so many occasion of feeling sad and sorry
i thought creating few seconds of smiles
would be just nice and good...

That is the humble philosophy behind the gallery.

If you find a heart...
wherever you are,
that winks at you
Capture it and...
become a link to the growing chain of hearts

Be part of the loving domino effect... if you wish!

Sincerely
Claudia
