I walked across the street to Tiffany's
(no joke either... where else does one seek tourist information at Union Square...?)
I found a salesman who knew all about the hearts.
The hearts were part of a large project supported by SF artists several years ago.
There were actually 126 hearts created for the project!
Only one remains at Union Square - one completed by Tony Bennett.
The others are on display in different parts of the city.
