The length of a contrail doesnt say anything of the weather to come. It does depend on the humidity, temperature and pressures at that altitude but this can have many causes. Seeing a lot of high-cirrus clouds may also indicate a warm-front but it can also just be high clouds...
But anyway, it is a very interesting photo... and I even see some light reflecting on the cockpit! :D
Always... if the contrail is short, as in this image, it'll be a nice sunny forecast. Id the contrails are loooooong... it's a precursor to rain. Why ? It has something to do with the atmospheric pressures etc.
See, from now on... you will never look at a contrail the same way again ! Hi ! Hi !
