"I captured this image as it was the single most captivating detail in over 200 beach huts that line Wells beach in Norfolk. I was there for a summer's sunrise, and in amongst the line of huts, which varied hugely in grandeur and size, was no. 131, 'Mermaid's Cave', a shabby, tatty, dilapidated little affair that was almost completely overshadowed by its bigger, glossy, immaculate neighbours. But the wind-battered, salt-encrusted little Mermaid's Cave had a charm that the others lacked. It was covered in little glass fishes, stars, crescent moons... and among them were these two little hearts. They may have been a declaration of their owner's love for each other, or perhaps it was for their little ramshackle piece of beachfront paradise. Who knows? But I'm glad they were there."
