The Saguaro has been described as the monarch of the Sonoran Desert, as a prickly horror, as the supreme symbol of the Southwest, and it's all too human shapes it assumes. Since 1933, this giant cactus has been protected within the Saguaro National Park.
This park consists of two districts...the Saguaro East and the Saguaro West. These two areas on either side of Tucson, Arizona, together, preserve 91327 acres of life and landscape of the Sonoran Desert.
