Americas first 'World Heritage Site', Mesa Verde tells the story of the ancient Anasazi..a civilization's growth over 700 years. Tiny homes and crumbled villages have existed here for centuries, preserved and protected by overhanging cliff ledges. These magnificent cliff dwellings stimulated the rise in southwestern archaeology.

The ancient Anasazi's are now known as Ancestral Puebloans who have hundreds of villages and farming areas throughout this area.
