SWITZERLAND DAYS 6,7, & 8, AUGUST 23RD - 25TH, 2004 GALLERY
We left Carlos and Milchens and headed for the Train Station for our trip to Murren and the Mountains. We finally arrived after a couple of transfers and 2 funiculars ( cog trams) and arrived at the beautiful village of Murren. The views were wonderful, the long awaited look at the Eiger, Monk, and the Jungfrau were everything I had imagined them to be and more. We settled into our room at the Eiger Guest House, directly across the street from the Train Station, talk about close and not having to lug our bags very far. We were pleasantly surprized at what a great view we had from our room, and we settled in and went our for a short walk. The next day it drizzled and rained lightly all day and into the evening, it was almost a relief, we really enjoyed just relaxing in our room or going down to the Bar and watching the Olympics on the large projected tv. The next day broke clear and blue and we went up on top of the Schlithorn. The panorama view from up there was breathtaking. The Schlithorn was featured in one of the James Bond movies, and they have a bunch of gifts in the gift shop with that on it. We stayed up there for about 3 hours, had lunch and relaxed and then headed back down to Murren. The mountain air was so clean and crisp, really quite a change from the air back home. We left Murren on the 26th to meet up with Karl Baer in Luzern.
