M&O STATION GRILL AND LEONARD'S MUSEUM.......10/11/2008
KK and I met Le Anne and Dan at the M&O Station Grill, after hearing about the the Museum from them all week, and about the Grill, we were really excited to actually get to go and see it and try some of the Food.
The Place was really neat, with very quick, friendly, and courteous service. The menu had all kind of different fare,, most named after either the Leonard's Bros. or the M&O. The food was very good, the M&O Original and fries I had was very tasty, and of course we had to try the Banana Pudding, it was just out of this world!!!
Chef Danny stopped by to make sure everything was as it should be, and what a nice man he was. We learned about his history as a Chef, and then a lot of the History of/around this part of Fort Worth.
After Lunch, we moved into the Museum, it was like stepping back in time, all the wonderful exhibits really brought back fond memories of Leonard's Department Store, and all the trips downtown on the Bus when I was younger with my Mom. Also, all the special rides on the M&O, seeing all the memorabilia that had been spared and so much of it had been donated. It's good that this special part of Fort Worth's History isn't going to be lost or fade away.
This place is definitely worth a visit, especially with a empty stomach.
It was really a fun day, filled with good friends, good food, and old memories, what more could anyone ask for.
The Leonard's Museum is free and I highly recommend it to those that have lived here all their
lives or those that have just arrived. It's a wonderful insight to a great Family that helped Fort Worth grow into the type of City that it's famous for, and the Leonard's Family and their contributions are a large part of that. It's also very interesting to read and see the innovative ideas they had to not only help their customers in troubled times and in good times, but showed you can be kind and compassionate, and be good Business People and prosper.
