I never found out what type of surfing this is. They would paddle out (standing or kneeling) and use the paddle to balance or guide the surf board. If you know what this is called please drop me a comment. For now I will just call it cheating-hehe-but I'm sure it is difficult to do. Kauai is the only island I saw this type of surfing done on.
