By Elaine Parker Akin
THE INVITATION
Come quickly, dear, my mother called,
from high on a distant hill,
there’s every flower on earth up here
and more still.
I’ll be there soon enough, I said,
I’ve still some things to do.
In case you don’t remember,
it’s lovely down here, too.

(I created this photo composition to go
along with Elaine’s poem which started as a dream;
used elements from three pictures from my files.)
Elaine’s latest book of poetry, ENCORE,
is at the printer now.
