For our times, Meditation and Prayer on
the 10 Commandments as given by God to Moses.
(Exodus 20:1-17)
My Prayer: Thank you God for being Strong Deliverer, the “I AM” whom alone is able
to deliver from all forms of enslavement and addiction. Thank you
for creating fences for desire and pathways for prospering.
(Exodus 20:3-5). Help me to love, cherish, and honor your commands—
develop them in my heart as vessels fit for navigating life’s seas.
Help me to respect Your Name; save me from judgment
reserved for those who disrespect your Name (Exodus 20: 7).
Thank you Almighty God for celebrating a day for Rest, a Sabbath.
Help me to follow Your example (Genesis 2:1-3), and your commandment.
(Isaiah 58:13-14) May Your abiding Presence warm my heart,
enliven my mind so I may be attentive to Your Word and Your creation
everyday. May I respect the need of all around me for a day of Rest (Exodus 20:8-11).
Please LORD, give me a good, long life as I show love, respect, and
honor for elders according to the stated desire of Your heart (Exodus 20:12).
If, when ever I feel forsaken by those ordained as guardian or caregiver,
please stand by me. Be advocate. Be present as a mother and a father,
as a Helpmate. May Your correction be tender mercies. May Your authority
be welcome. (Psalm 27:10; Psalm 23; Isaiah 54:5)
Redeeming God drive from my heart any anger, hatred, malice, greed,
lust, envy, jealousy, discontent, pride, addiction that might lead to murder,
adultery, stealing, or coveting what belongs to another. Deliver
from a lying tongue, from deceit, from gossip, and all deceivers. Help me
to be a blessing with words and actions. (Proverbs 6:17; 12:22; Luke 6:28)
God Almighty, make my life choices nourishing (Exodus 20:13-17).
May Your commands be life and health to me. Thank you God! Amen.
