I thoroughly enjoyed taking these pictures at the Sisters of St. Benedict Monastery.
The Monastery is affectionately called "the castle on the hill" in Ferdinand, Indiana.
I marveled at the extraordinary dance of lines, forms, spaces, light, and
shadow in those domes, arches, windows, doors, halls, gardens and grounds.
The Castle on the Hill was built between 1915 and 1924 and restored between 2001 and 2005.

The Kordes Retreat Center is on the grounds of the monastery and is run by the Sisters
who follow the 1500 year-old spiritual path outlined by St. Benedict.
The Women of my Protestant church have enjoyed the good hospitality of the Sisters and
this beautiful facility annually for many years.
