Jacob was one of the first scouts I met when I arrived in Kaszuby on
this trip. Standing at the gate of his camp, Jacob had "warta" that
day (pronounced "varta" -- guard, or sentinel duty).

The letters "Z.H.P." on the gate itself stand for "Zwiazek Harcerstwa
Polskiego" meaning "The Polish Scouting Association".

And we are The Polish Scouting Association in Canada (with Polish
Scouts and Guides based in different countries all over the world...
which makes for one pretty wild time whenever there's a "Zlot" --
a rally or world Jamboree... an international coming together of
all these Polish Scouts and Guides).
