JUNE 15

ROADSIDE - BACKROADS NEAR FERGUS, ONTARIO

Waking up to the alarm clock at 4AM is a royal pain in the a**. I'm tired,
groggy, dazed, and if I didn't pack my camera gear the night before, it
would be a seeming impossible pre-dawn task. The hour of driving in the
dark only brings me awake with a coffee by my side and the car stereo
blasting like it did when I was a teenager. But once I get out into the
countryside backroads, the stereo gets turned down, the morning light
starts to creep up, and I can finally justify (at least to myself) that,
"yeah, okay, maybe waking at 4AM wasn't such a bad idea after all."

Yes, this is what it's all about. Red eyed runs to the middle of nowhere to capture
a moment such as this, that few others will see. Terrific effort CJ, wonderful palette of tones.

This shot is wonderful. I'll be there next month when I go to Reelfoot Lake to catch the sunrise there. Mornings are not me, but they sure are worth getting up for. Your photo is wonderful, the sky, the fog and the flowers.... Thanks for getting up early.

Do you print your work? I came back to look at this again. I really like it! I need a bigger house to hang the work of my friends. Or maybe I'll just take my family photos down!! LOL!! Great plan!

This is beyond belief! The colors are FANTASTIC and my FAVORITE combination!! THe mist/fog line divides the picture in the perfect spot (in my opinion!) and I just LOVE this one!! SO....JHR needs to know, what were you listening to?? LOL!!!
Robin Reid16-Jun-2004 14:23
Yup CJ early mornings ultimately reward if you can survive the first part. This image is a truly fine gift to all of us from you. I'm glad you got up and made the effort.
The low hanging mist offsets the lavender colors in the foreground exquisitely.
Joseph Brennskag16-Jun-2004 14:15
CJ ... the colors here are SWEET! Beautiful job.
Guest 16-Jun-2004 14:06
Heck, I'm up at 5AM every morning and all I see are tail lights. This was time well spent.
Joseph Tidwell16-Jun-2004 13:59

Guest 16-Jun-2004 13:54
From the thumbnail, I thought the colors could not be real. I'd say this was worth it.
What a glorious location, very well captured.
Guest 16-Jun-2004 13:47
