1918 - Restored 2005 Cliff. Johnston

Anderson Children - Edmonton, Alberta

Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA

Back Row, left to right:

Arnold Johnston Anderson, b. 1900
Alma Ava Anderson, b. 1890

Front Row, left to right:

James Edgar Anderson, b. 1902
John Arthur Anderson, b. 1907

This is an old family postcard-type photograph. It was sent some years after the actual photograph was taken.

On the reverse of the postcard is the postmark: EDMONTON, ALTA OCT 1 7-PM 1918

The text of the message is: "Dear Florence: Mother put your beads in the basket, thinking they were mine. I'll send them to you. Alma"

The postcard is addressed to: Miss F. Anderson, Rockdale Tower, Ontario (my grandmother)

Rockdale Tower refers to a substantial survey landmark that was built of native rock on my great grandfather Anderson's farm by the Canadian government. It was a well known local landmark.

This was an extremely time consuming photograph to restore. As you can see there are tears, parts missing, scratches, creases, mold spots, yellowing and emulsion deterioration. which are best observed at the "original" size. Total time: 12 hours. full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

James Edgar Anderson is my father. That is a great picture. I have a similar one probably of James E. and John a few years later. I am enjoying your Photo album.
I am just getting in to this geneology stuff and find it fascinating.
