I feel as if this is really a milestone in the making of my V-Drum Sander. Here the drum is shown finished with 2 coats of Zinsser BIN Primer and sanded with 400 grit sandpaper to take off the "lumps, bumps, ridges and any other surface imperfections" - anything to allow the sticky hook & loop backing to adhere better :-)

I put a scale to the top of one of the box ends and found that the drum projects 19/32" above the top of the box. It needs to be closer to 3/4". I now need to either trim the box pieces a wee bit or add shims under the pillow block bearings...I'll think about it for awhile before I decide which way to go ;-)
