This is how my sanding rig looked. I'm just about finished truing the drum at this point. Using this method is not without its concerns. There is a lot of chatter at first as the drum is out-of-round. The best thing to do is to hold the sanding board firmly down of the front of the box and then use the other hand to apply pressure to the drum with the sandpaper.
